HOW TO MIX NEUTRALS…

DRESS: Missguided (similar here and here) // SCARF: Old Navy // SHOES: Steve Madden (old, very similar here) // HAT: Hinge // BAG: Gucci // SUNGLASSES: Karen Walker

Hi everyone!
Neutrals have obviously been my go to colors these past few weeks. My favorite neutral combo is black and cognac (or any shade or brown), they contrast beautifully together. Here’s this post from last year mixing those colors :). One tip that I would give about mixing neutrals is don’t be afraid to try new things. I would have never thought that grey and tan complemented each other until I was in front of a mirror throwing random pieces together. One way that I incorporated the tan into my outfit was to add at least 2 accessary pieces. I didn’t want it to look like I randomly threw on a tan hat to my grey toned outfit, so I brought out my tan cross body to even out the colors. Another way to mix your neutrals during the fall is a scarf; a light colored scarf lightens up dark toned clothing. A neutral patterned scarf is also a great way to mix colors because the scarf already ties everything in.
A little life update…If you follow me on Instagram (@anniemescall) or snapchat (@anniemescall), you’ll know that I’ve been in Colorado house hunting. Well, after traveling here TWICE, we officially have a home to move into next month!! The hubs comes home so soon and I can hardly wait to have our family whole again, just in time for the holidays too! Now all that’s left is packing…and driving 14+ hours, woo-hoo! Wish us luck!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
xo,
Annie
