REASONS FOR TRAVELING TO TEXAS SO OFTEN…

I’m currently writing this post at 1 a.m.  I’m pretty sure that I’ve only had 7 hours of sleep the night prior but we do what we love. The past 5 days back at home were so great. I’m pretty sure I’ve gained 10 pounds eating everything in my sight. The 5 macaroons everyday probably doesn’t help either, lol. My sister moved into her apartment and she has THE BEST apartment pool ever! It was like Christmas morning for Liam. He was running around kicking and diving into the water.
The past couple of days, a few of yall have asked me why I travel to Houston so often versus going to a new city/state. Reason #1 would be that I’m a homebody. I have two homes, one here in Colorado and one in Texas. With Tommy’s job, he’s frequently gone for days/weeks at a time, so I take that time to travel home to see my family. I grew up in a huge household and my aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents lived in the same town. We were and are still extremely close. Growing up, there were always children and family members running around. Quiet houses actually creep me out, lol. I love being around my family and I want Liam to be just as close to everyone as I am. My father-in-law also lives in the same town and we always grab dinner every single time I visit. He enjoys spending time with Liam. I think it’s important for Liam to grow strong relationships with all of his family members.
Reason #2: Being away from a big city gives me anxiety, lol. Yes, you heard right. Denver is nothing compared to Houston. Don’t get me wrong, Denver is super pretty and clean but there’s only so much you can do. In Houston, there’s culture, amazing food, and tons of things going on. Again, I love being around a lot of people, it makes me feel safe and at home. Plus, people in the South tend to be a little more friendly.
Reason #3: Flights are dirt cheap! Liam and I fly frontier majority of the time to Houston because we get round trips for under $100!
Thank you so much for reading!
