THE BEST YEAR OF MY LIFE…

DRESS: Topshop (less than $70!) // SHOES: Steve Madden // BAG: Chanel (less expensive version here) // SUNGLASSES: Karen Walker // EARRINGS: Baublebar // RING: Kendra Scott // Mini- Janie & Jack  // SHOES: Freshly Picked
I hope everyone is ready for New Years Eve!
I have never worn an all sequined outfit for New Years Eve so this year I decided that it was time! Even though I plan on spending time with my family at home watching fireworks, I thought it would be fun to share with you this gorgeous dress from Topshop (I’m wearing a size 6 for reference). Topshop has a beautiful sparkly selection of pieces for New Years Eve, this one being my favorite. I love that this mini dress is a bit looser than others. I paired my outfit with a cream Chanel so my outfit wasn’t too dark and harsh (this stunning Chanel is my aunts, she lets me borrow it from time to time).
Isn’t Liam’s outfit adorable?! I love when he is apart of the shoots, they are always so fun and his laugh and smiles are too adorable not to share.

I’m usually excited about a new year, but not this time. 2015 has been the BEST year of my life! God has given me so many blessings. I want to share a few events that happened this year that mean the most to me.
I’ll start at the beginning, In January Tommy surprised with a trip to my favorite place…New York City. It was funny because for weeks he told me that we were taking a camping trip in January so be prepared to take some time off (at work) and I thought it was strange because I wouldn’t consider myself an “outdoorsy” girl. On our first night (January 2nd) we went to The Empire State Building, the lines were extremely long but Tommy was set on going to the top. When we arrived to the top, the view was breathtaking!! I have never seen such a beautiful city. Tommy kept asking people around us to take a picture but no one spoke English, so he was getting very frustrated (I thought he was overreacting lol). He finally found someone to take our picture and just as turned around to get ready for the picture, I looked down and saw Tommy on one knee proposing to me. I was so shocked and flustered…I froze for a while staring at the ring because it was beautiful and I couldn’t believe that it was actually happening. Of course, I said yes and couldn’t stop crying for the rest of the night. We spent the entire weekend in New York celebrating our engagement..it felt like we were in a movie. We got married on May 5th, 2015 and plan on having our wedding March of 2017.
July 20th, 2015 is a day that I will never forget…our son Liam Stephen Brooks Mescall was born. That morning, I was having cramps so I called the Dr. (not thinking that I was in labor AT ALL & because Liam was due on the 24th) to see if I should head to the hospital. When I got examined, my nurse told me that I was in fact in early labor and that the baby is coming. I quickly called Tommy and told him to fly to Texas RIGHT NOW! I was looking for flights from Colorado to Texas and then when I found one, I called Tommy but his phone was dead. I called him for about 3 hours freaking out about why he wasn’t answering. A few hours passed and I got an epidural. I was crying majority of the time because I thought Tommy was going to miss the birth of our son. Then, I got a phone call from Tommy telling me that he had planned a surprise visit weeks ago and that he was in Texas on his way to the hospital. Liam came about an hour after Tommy arrived. My labor was rather quick and practically painless (I got lucky). I will never forget seeing our baby’s precious face and tiny toes and fingers for the first time. That little boy is my whole world, everything I do, I do for him. It was by far the happiest day of our lives.

Lastly, the launch of my own fashion and lifestyle blog was one of the biggest highlights of 2015. For years, I contemplated on creating a blog and with the support of my hubby and friends, The Annie Issue was up on November 30th. A week after my blog launched, I decided to apply for Reward Style (thinking that I wouldn’t get accepted because my site was only up for a short amount of time), and when I received an email that I had gotten approved, my heart was filled with joy. I was extremely proud that I had accomplish this goal so early on. I am so in love with F&L blogging. I have met so many kind and beautiful bloggers, this community is continuously supportive of one another. I don’t know what I would do without the support of my followers and fellow bloggers. I love each and every one of you. I have big plans for The Annie Issue in 2016!

Thank you for reading! Happy Holidays!
xo,
Annie
