Let’s talk about New Year’s Resolutions! Do you set goals for yourself at the beginning of every year or do you typically give yourself goals throughout the year? One of my resolutions this year is getting back into shape. I know, I know, you’ve heard probably tons of people say “my new year’s resolution is getting skinny and fit”. I’ve given myself this goal every year, to only have it last a few months or I find excuses like “I just had a baby and I want more” or “it’s too late now”.
This year IS going to be different because Tommy and I are done having babies and it’s never too late to get healthy and active. I’m starting myself with goals that are attainable for myself. Instead of telling myself, “work out every day”, I’m telling myself “workout 30 minutes twice a week, every week.” Results happen over time but surely if it’s consistent. I’m focusing on being positive and loving my body but also accepting that there’s room for improvement. These pictures of me are real and I am strong.
MY GO TO WORKOUT CLOTHES
I’ve been going to the gym here and there these past few months, but I wanted to start fresh. I picked some really great activewear pieces from JCPenney. JCPenney carries a huge selection of affordable high-quality active wear clothes and shoes. I typically wear black but wanted to try out something new. I picked up these military green pants and sports bra and they’re my current go to pieces. I’ve tried out a handful of Xersion pieces and the quality is just as great as the more expensive brands, but for half the price. I also found these Adidas sneakers and I love them for running and light weight lifting.
WHAT I USE TO WORKOUT
I’ve used the BBG app before I was pregnant with Chloe and it’s the best workout I’ve ever had. The app truly helps keep track of your progress, teaches you step by step, and works! I recommend trying it out if you’re working out at home or if you’re needing directions
Whenever I go to the gym, I typically start with a one-mile workout and alternate on arm and back machines, leg machines, and abs. I focus on 4 different types of workouts and do 4 sets of 12.
My goal is to post an update picture of my progression every 30 days to hold myself accountable. It’s NEVER too late to start getting healthier and active. We just have to take that first step and get the ball rolling. Make 2020 the year that you get fit and improve on your health!
