5 TIPS ON HOW TO HAVE HEALTHY CLEANING HABITS WITH YOUR FAMILY

Let’s all give ourselves a pat on the back for making it through 2020. WOW! What a year it was. Even though 2020 has been hard, it gave us an opportunity to learn new things. 2021 is going to be better, I have a strong feeling about it. Go into this year making plans to better your future.

Every January, I try to set attainable goals for myself and for my family. Last year, I learned a lot about products that we used in our home, the foods we eat, and the clothes we bought. Two of our main focuses this year is sustainably and using more products with safe ingredients. We’ve had Grove Collaborative products in our household for years. Getting more plant based products like Seedling Toilet Paper and Seedling Tissues is how we’re taking steps to have our home with 100% sustainable materials and plant based formulas. This Mrs. Meyer’s is my favorite! I always have it in our home and I even gifted it to my mom and aunt last year in their housewarming basket. Grove Hand sanitizers help keep our hands clean wherever we go and smells amazing.

Now that my children are older and wiser, they are helping me more around the house.  They’ve been asking me how they could help more around the house. When they see Tommy and I clean, they always step in and grab whatever we’re using. We started with easy and safe chores like sweeping or putting up spoons. Now they want to do more “adult” things. Our family is pretty big on keeping our house clean so I’m sharing 5 tips on how our family maintains healthy cleaning habits.

5 TIPS ON HOW TO HAVE HEALTHY CLEANING HABITS WITH YOUR FAMILY

  1. Make it fun! When Tommy and I are cleaning, we try our best to show our children that it’s fun versus something we’re trying to get over with. We play loud music, dance, and sing.
  2. Use safe and clean products like Grove Collaborative products. With children in our home and copying our every move, we ensure that our household products don’t have any harsh chemicals and are all safe.
  3. Set a designated cleaning time. Mentally prepare everyone that it’s cleaning time every day at 5pm. That way everyone expects it and doesn’t feel that it’s an interruption of their day.
  4. Create a game and/or cleaning chart. We created a sticker chart and for every 10 stickers they get, they earn a treat. That treat can be a little toy, extra 30 minutes of staying up, sweets, etc.
  5.  Make it educational. Use this opportunity to teach your children how we clean. We don’t clean just because it’s dirty. Teach them about germs, bacteria. Etc. I’m a huge science nerd so I find it very interesting.

Signing up for Grove is free! When you make your first purchase at Grove, you also receive a free gift. It’s a great way to potentially try out products that you haven’t tried yet!
