Summer has officially arrived in the Mescall household. We took about a week off to do all of our travels and it was so much fun. These 3 have started their studies and classes back up for the summer and constantly keeping each other accountable. As a mom and wife, I’m extremely proud at how they prioritize their studies. Tommy is taking summer classes at his University and Easton and Liam are getting daily tutoring at Sylvan Learning Center.
Dad is the person Easton and Liam look up too. Not just because Tommy is their Dad but because they see him going through the same path as themselves. Tommy served in the army for almost 6 years and now is putting his education first. They always see him studying and reading. At the same time, Tommy is also out in the backyard teaching the boys how to play soccer, football, etc. Having a healthy work/play balance is what we strive for. Tommy is the best dad I could have ever asked for for these boys.
Keeping a strong work/play balance is important for our family. Learning is something that I always want my children to look forward to, regardless of the season. Liam has been getting his tutoring lessons at Sylvan the entire school year and seeing him come out of his lesson with a big smile makes me happy. Liam has expressed how much he loves it and is excited to continue with his lessons at Sylvan. Easton is the one that is always constantly finding a way to learn. Whether it’s through books, classes, going to walks, or playing with toys, he is like a sponge.
Monday-Friday is when their tutoring lessons are at Sylvan Learning Center and they’ve been so stoked to get to their morning and afternoon lessons, while still having time for summertime fun in between lessons. Sylvan Learning’s tutoring is customizable, so you can work with their tutors anywhere from once a week to five days a week like us! It’s the summer so it’s important to help children feel like they are having fun while learning. As they approach the next school year, I’m confident that they’ll be ready to dive into the next grade level. They plan out cool activities and the boys love getting to meet new friends to work with. We’ve signed them up for coding/math camp so if it’s something that’s offered near your location, I highly recommend it. Liam and Easton have their lessons in the a.m. and go straight to camp right after. Sylvan is incredible at encouraging and motivating children through fun activities, interactive lessons, and positive reinforcements. When your children leave their lessons looking happy and express how much fun they had, you know they are really enjoying themselves.
